Does Boarderlands come with a CD-Key?

My son got a sealed copy of Boarderlands for christmas and wanted to add it to is steam account using the key. Only problem is there doesn't seem to be a key with it :confused:

We've not tried installing this game yet (he wants it in his steam folder) is there supposed to be a Key?

There is no key and it can't be added to steam like that unfortunately. However you can add a shortcut to the game in steam.

You need to play this game online using gamespy btw.

Its under Games > Add a non-Steam game to My Games list..

You can play with either Gamespy or Gameranger.

Nobody likes gamespy so...
