It's a bit harsh to call for Moyes' head based purely on the result tonight, but we are absolutely dire in possession and going forward, it's actually shocking.

The man has no philosophy, and certainly can't coach players to defend either - not something I expected at all.

No doubt he'll say he was delighted because we passed the ball for a bit (in slow motion, no less).

I can't fathom why any fan would support Moyes being kept around any longer if I'm honest. The Olympiacos and West Ham results were nothing to write home about and have incorrectly given people the belief that those games were a turning point. Olympiacos could have been a much different story had De Gea not bailed us out with some fantastic saves and West Hame are, well, West Ham.

Looking back at last season, there was certainly the indication that the squad needed fresh legs and there were key players in the squad getting past their prime, but the squad certainly wasn't four months away from implosion point. That's completely down to the manager.

The proof will be in the pudding, when Moyes has us finishing behind Everton despite having a superior squad. We've blew £64m on two players, one who isn't even worth the value of the paper his contract is written on and the other looks more out of place in the squad than a veggie at a rib joint.

He had a much better team. Manchester United have 5+ players who don't even deserve a spot in the squad. However that doesn't excuse such diabolical performances.

United team won the league the year before I finished with a very high points total, not much changed except adding Fellaini lol. Shouldn't be out of the top 4, certainly by this distance

I don't think anyone (bar Fergie) thought Moyes was the right man for the job, but hoped he'd grow into it and do a decent enough job. Sadly, some managers aren't cut out to handle the biggest clubs, and that seems to be the case with Moyes. I've no doubt he is a good manager, but he looks totally lost and as if he's got no belief in himself. A manager at the top level has to ooze confidence, Moyes has never done this, and now it's badly exposed.

What concerns me is that we've decided that Moyes is bigger than the club, he's essentially got immunity to a certain degree (at any other club he'd have been sacked). Now he's being trusted with spending upwards of £100m+ on players who will hopefully get us back in the top 4.

Then you have people who, as you mentioned, believe the squad isn't all that. They aren't entirely wrong, there are weaknesses in the squad but the squad also has enough quality to better the majority of teams at least in the league. The problem is, if you remove the confidence and drive from the players - as Moyes has done - things will look bleak. They've got no confidence and belief in the manager, before with SAF, things were very different.

while we were never expected to get anything tonight (only people who did are deluded) I'm rapidly losing faith in Moyes. As has been mentioned, last year we won the league, spent £60million and now we're edging closer to bottom half of the table! It started off with a complete joke of a summer transfer window and it hasn't ever got any better. No idea who could even replace him. off the top of my head can't think of any top class managers who would want to move? mourinho? Will win the league with Chelsea this year I feel. Pep Guardiola? Winning everything in germany at a canter (no reason why they won't win the champions league IMO)

To get someone better than Moyes shouldnt be too difficult.
Remember, Moyes hasnt won anything. Ever. Zero.
To this day, nobody has been able to explain the reason why he was chosen for the job at Man Utd.

The huge worry is that he will not get fired in the Summer AND he will get to spend £100M+ on players.

I cant believe this guy was chosen ahead of Mourinho. The mind boggles.

moyes actually looks older than ferguson. christ get some nutrition in you man!

Its the pressure, dude.
When you are under constant pressure and stress. Everyday, it ages you.
For sure, the guy is under immense pressure, even if he publicly doesnt admit that his job is under scrutiny.

Easy, same nationality as the outgoing manager.

The club doesnt admit he is under pressure - as per Charlton's statement yesterday.

some of your drivel is astounding it really is

So he's not under pressure from the fans, which at the end of the day pay the bills and force pretty much every high level decision in football? Hes go 80,000 wound up Mancs (Well 10,000 with the rest from out of town >,<) every week burning stares into the back of his head. He had massive boots to fill, arguably the biggest in football ever, he'll have felt the pressure from day one and it'll be getting worse everyday.

I voted the same as I did in the last poll - Rival Supporter (Liverpool) , sack him - wrong man for the job.

Whilst there is a part of me that finds irony in how quickly Liverpool and Man Utds league positions have swapped over, I also know that the seasons I have enjoyed most over my lifetime have been the ones with a strong Liverpool and a strong Man Utd. Its a rivalry through the years and one which has fuelled both teams. In a way, they almost need each other to be strong and some spark is lacking when one or the other is weak. As a Liverpool fan, I want a strong utd to go up against, and Moyes is just not delivering that, quite the opposite. Get rid of him, get in someone else and get Utd up off the stool in the corner, off the ropes, gloves up, stepping into the middle of the ring , ready to fight for the next round.

If the club wasnt supporting him with the reported transfers already signed in the summer and quotes like Charlton and Scholes, I would agree with you, but as these are happening Im not sure the fans are producing as much pressure as the press would have everyone believe (or rather the backing from inside the club is alleviating this pressure considerably).

We can only hope Frank

I voted sack him, as I did last time. I also said vocally he was unarguably the wrong man for the job when he was hired.

We desperately need a new captain at the helm. I don't believe Moyes has either the presence or authority, or the tactical acumen or shrewdness to get the best out of any team and players.

£80m has been spent the last year and we've gone backwards. Look at what Everton have managed to do with him and his team replaced.

The most sensible reason I can come up with is that the higher ups at Old Trafford are conspiring to get rid of the Glazers and installing a manager who would lead the club into a new dark age was the first step in that, now all they have to do is make sure he is there for as long as possible. :p

It just doesn't make sense the way he is being backed otherwise.

Everton are only in as good a position as they are because Utd are lower than them (which is unusual - and mainly due to the major deficencies in the squad that SAF left). Currently SAF wasted £15m on Zaha, and Moyes has wasted the same amount on MF (as several everton fans have said thats all Utd have paid so far). Mata will fit in once Utd get rid of the moody RvP

Everton have undoubtedly played well, but that squad is 90% of what Moyes created and the remaining players only became available over the summer (arguably apart from Barkley, no one can say for sure if he was ready last season or not)
