Some motherboards say they support core 2 extreme, does this mean they will support quad core? Also how can I tell if a motherboard will work with quad core, is it only the motherboards which actually state quad core on the overclocker specs? Thanks.

Core 2 Extreme is the X6800, which is Dual Core.

It will say something along the lines of "Quad Core support" if it does.

Ok thanks for the information. So are you implying then [pete] that the overclockers spec do not always mention it? I can't tell whether you are asking a question or being helpful seeing as you put a "?" at the end of your sentance.

OcUK specifications are generally culled from the manufacturer's website anyway. If it doesn't specifically say it supports quad-cores then assume it doesn't. What board are you interested in?

I think I am getting this one now; Abit AB9 Quad GT (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard. I found out it is quad core compatible, and also even has a HDMI header for graphic cards in the future, also I like Abit as I have had their motherboards before.
