Does it get to you when people don't reply to a thread?

Very funny... When i need something answered which can't be answered by google because the precise question has never been asked before, i turn to the helpful people on the forums. If i need an answer quickly, i can usually rely on the community to help.

The threads i answer first for example, are the ones with no existing replies, so that the person gets the help they seek.

A price check on a computer, a comparison between two graphics cards/chips etc, can only be achieved through google if those two graphics cards/chips have been compared, and since one is for desktop and one for a laptop, nowhere has.

Find me a custom built C2D rig with the exact specs that my one has on google, so i know how much i could get for it... It isnt easy is it.

If your question hasn't been asked before in the history of humanity then it must be a stupid one.

WHY, ON GOD'S GREEN EARTH, DID YOU REPLY TO THIS THREAD?!?!

cos I need 250 post by Friday next week?hehe

What gets me is when you open a thread and later people advice you how to do something.
Ok,is that really possible, how to do it then, have you got a link to a guide?
Replay:No I'havent,google it.

ok, so this is the thing, there are loads of comparison and benchmarking sites online. if the two things have not be compared by any of those, chances are you are doing something abnormal and no one on here will of done it either.
what are the chances of someone owning the exact same graphics card and laptop that you want to compare, out of all the different combinations? people probably haven't answered as they just don't know. whats the point in posting 'I have no experience with one or other of these products, but going on what I think should be real, x is as good/bad as y because of some reason I do not know as I haven't used x and/or y'

a custom built pc is only worth what someone is willing to pay. you cannot use websites to compare its second hand value as no one else will be selling it (you said yourself you cant google it as its unique). so all people can do is give you a rough price based on what the hardware individually is worth new, minus the fact its used. you could easily do this yourself by googling the parts and taking 20-35% off (or whatever figure you deem acceptable for second hand). but as all of this is irrelevant, as if I said, along with everyone else that you £1k is worth £10 second hand, you would not go and sell it for that, you would have an idea in your head as to what you want for it.
likewise if we all said your £1k pc was worth £800, but people that are actually looking to purchase it only want to spend £300 on it, our price is irrelevant too.

so yeh, both examples cannot be answered by googling as they don't have an exact answer. so neither can an of us, people can only guess, which is no better than what you can do

You get used to it OP, on the few forums I frequent I can pretty much stop a thread dead in its tracks....................................................

:p

Because people on the forums have thoughts and opinions. It is good to know them as well. There's nothing illogical about my questions. Stop being so judgemental.

What really annoys me is when you find a thread through Search, and it's exactly the same problem or question as you've got... but either the OP never replied, or just replied "fixed" without actually explaining how they fixed it.

On the car forum I use I now make a point of returning to my old threads (even after a couple of months) and replying with how I solved the problem in the end!

I always do that as well.

I don't know why everyone is beings harsh about this, I didn't post this thread in anger, i posted it with kindly curiosity, to see if other people get a little agitated by it if they need the help of PEOPLE in a hurry and the help doesent come in time.
