Does mSATA offer anything my Crucial 256GB SSD doesn't?

My new GA-Z68XP-UD3 has an mSATA connector.

As per the topic, is the only advantage of an mSATA SSD that it is tiny and sits on the motherboard?
I thought this was fairly good reading on mSATA, i think they note your motherboard too. It seems their conclusion is ...mSATA is the next logical step to push towards greater integration on highly mobile platforms.
