i have this thing where i prefer a quiet system, so i tend to turn down the fan in msi afterburner, but i forget when in game to turn it back up, so i load tf2, go for my tea come back and its doing that random blowing where its trying to cool down, i slam fan back up, but its been at 105.c for about 20 mins now, done this a few times, now i used to get around 180-220 fps on tf2 maxxed, maybe more, now when in battle i get around 80-90, have i damaged my card ? is there something i should do ? or do you think it might just be cause i need to defragment, discussion is welcome :)

Perhaps you've just burnt/dried out the TIM. Have a look and replace if needed.

this might be the case, am i daft in asking if you can use the same as youd use on a cpu, and what can i use to clean the old stuff off ? if someone could likt to something on this site it would be great

the card is so damn loud when left on auto, sucks, doing nothing for my pc except bringing up the ambient temps and sucking on my electric bill, should i opt for the ati side of things ? one thing i can say about my 470gtx is its never failed with fps and drivers have been incredible, never any problems. just thinking an upgrade to a 6970 would be a good idea, maybe quieter, but ofc theres no info on TDP or anything.
