does sli work better on larger screens

im going to upgrade to a Intel Pentium 4 955 Extreme Edition Dual Core soon so that should be a huge improvment over my current processor :) so my set up should be good with a larger screen

If by 'benefit' you mean will you get the full potential of having SLI by using higher resolutions, then the answer is probably yes. I mean, if you can run F.E.A.R. at 1280*1024 on your current 19" LCD with all the AA and AF you want turned on and it's still liquid smooth, then yes your system could probably cope with higher resolutions.

If you mean will a larger screen give you a better framerate, then no of course not. A bigger screen will be better because it's bigger and has a higher resolution, but it will stretch your system more, so it's a case of whether your system has spare speed to burn.

just downloaded the fear demo from nvidia stunning graphics no issues what so ever so i guess i should be alright with a bigger screen :)

Depends on what you are playing. Games such as Half-Life 2 are more limited by CPU, where as Doom3, Quake4 are limted more on the GFX power.
Go go for as big a monitor you can afford. Getting a bigger monitor and not getting one of the Pentium Extreme chips, but a high end P4 or AMD instead will give you much better investment for the money.
The Dell 2405 (24" widescreen) model is very popular and is about to be replaced by a newer model. You will not regret going for a large screen such as this one!

thanks for the reply i really wanted to stick with Viewsonic heard good and bad things about dell  but i will keep my eye out for the newer model. ;)
