I was reading this months Computer Active and spotted the Netgear EVA8000, now i already have my xbox setup to stream from my pc and also i can store things on the hard drive itself, but this looks like an altogether neater solution seeing as though i no longer use the xbox for gaming.

But, is there anything similar that also integrates a hard drive with PVR? I know the EVA8000 allows you to record if you have a tv tuner in your pc, but id prefer an all in one solution.

So it should be/have/do:

Stream all formats from PC
Hard Drive
HDMI
Support HD (Including 1080p)
Wireless (Doesnt have to, would be nice)
PVR

Also, if anyone has a Netgear EVA8000, id be interested to hear your opinions and experience when using it to record through a tv tuner

depending on budget why don't you just build a htpc and sling it in a lower profile case, with say an 8500 graphics card or even onboard with some of the newer board and a twin tuner tv card etc. You have the choice of windows or linux to drive the setup and if you have drives laying around you could save on the hard drives and opticals. I reckon for about £400-450 you could have a nice matx with onboard graphics etc that would be more than capable of playing just about anything thrown at it (codecs permitting).

Exactly that, the EVA8000 is <£200. A PC feels like a bit of overkill too.

That netgear is the closest thing, why not just use a usb external drive with it?
You can definetely play from these, not sure about recording to though.
