Does such a thing exist? (HD-DVD related)

Just wondering if a good quality device exists that can playback HD-DVDs / upscale normal DVD's (1080p) and also be used as a recorder to regular DVD or a HDD?

Just looking to have a single unit rather than two seperates if possible.

No it doesnt - well unless you build yourself a Home Theatre PC with a HD-DVD rom drive and a standard dvd rw drive - but from a standard consumer device as far as I know what you are looking for doesnt exist

There are DVD players that can scale DVD-Video's to 1080P (Oppo 981) afaik the Toshiba HD-DVD scales to 1080i, not p.

Looks like it'll have to be a couple of devices.

I'll look at the Toshiba and the Oppo ones - thanks.

Any other makes/models to look at?
