When I see my dogs getting annoyed, they come straight back to me and on the lead. If the Collie wasn't being hit by the owners who knows what might have happened? I mean the dog being punched tells me something about the owners, most dogs I know do as there told regardless of what there doing and what mood there in.

When I see my dogs getting annoyed, they come straight back to me and on the lead. If the Collie wasn't being hit by the owners who knows what might have happened? It is a delicate balance between owner and dog. Some dogs are naturally hyper active and don't know how to channel that energy productively and the easiest thing to do it become over playful and bitey or just all out rage from being annoyed at the smallest thing. Hard to explain exactly what I mean :/
I have staff and it will happily share its toys with kids, it hates going on walks, hates people fighting, soppiest dog youll ever know. But we obivously still keep our wits about ourselves when small kids are around, JUST INCASE the dog did have a funny turn. But she hasnt had any yet, and hopefully show wont.

Just because your dogs have not yet mauled a child does not mean that they are "safe". Dogs are pack animals, bred to be submissive to humans but along comes a child into their pack, who is instantly a higher rank pack member despite being weaker than the dog. If a pack leader is there the dog will respect that rank, but on their own with the weaker pack member they *can* in certain cases become aggressive and attack the weaker pack member like they would do in the wild. In certain breeds this aggressive trait will be more prominent than in other breeds, which is why there have been lots of reported attacks from devil dogs breeds, but you don't often hear about attacks by collies.
The thing about these attacks happening at grandparents is that often the dog owner, or pack leader leaves the dog and child at the grandparents. The dog doesn't recognise the grandparent as a pack leader so the aggressive trait comes to the forefront.

My dogs will never do anything like that because there never left in a situation where it may happen!!
p.s the dog whisperer is a bloody idiot and knows next to nothing. I would love to see an uncut version where he gets these so called killer nasty dogs to soft / tame within a week or 2 - it just dont happen
