Just one picture but I wanted some C&C on it.

Things that I don't like. The DOF is too shallow. I think having the dogs nose out of focus doesn't work. However I am happy that I got the focus on the eyes.

I went out with my GF and her parents dog to get some pics in the autumn leaves, and it was yet another occasion where I was REALLY dissapointed with the results. There was no colour to my pictures. What I saw with my eyes were great autumn colours, what showed up on my camera were washed out greens and browns.

Anyway, here is the pic. C&C welcome. I need to learn to close down the aperture more to give me more DOF.

Apart from the reasons you've highlighted its a pretty nice picture, I'd prefer to see a slightly larger crop just to get the entire head in the frame as those ears are partially missing.
I like the angle, it gives an interesting slant to the shot and makes your dog look thoughtful, the nose being out of focus but the eyes being in, does make it slightly distracting, i'd say pull 2 stops to get the eyes and nose in and it'd be fine. :)

Thank you mate. Now you mention it, the crop probably is out, I just need that bit extra at the top.

I have a habit of just using the largest aperture, I have no idea why. I don't realise until I get to the computer see that important parts are out of focus :(

I get carried away sometimes and do similar things myself. I'm too busy enjoying the scene to think clearly about what I want, then think of the settings.

It does take some getting used to, and I still make daft mistakes now. Probably why photography isn't paying the bills :D
