Doner Meat

My liking of doner kebabs with no salad and loads of chilli sauce has rendered me an outcast in polite society :(

I had a kebab like Richdog mentioned when I was in Augsburg, truly delicious proper Turkish thing. Over here kebabs are just crap in comparison :(

One of our customers makes doner kebabs, suffice to say i don't eat them and advise other people not to.

My dad visited a doner factory in London during the 90's. Seagulls dive bombing skips of meat and carcasses do not endear me to them either.

Well thank you for making me feel hungry! :D

There are loads of kebab shops in Stockton. Probably only two or three that I trust to have a decent salad and none of them do anything close to a decent chip.

theres nothing wrong with the meat but its the way its cooked, ive seen a tv programme they closed down this kebab place in north london when the health & safety guys went round, they got to the base off the kabab thing and found maggots.
The guy explained that the meat on the inside isnt good and can go rotten, then the presentor asked would you eat a kabab he said "no"

How long does the doner meat stay on the turny thing though?

well that's the problem. I havent seen the program crashuk mentioned but my GF has, and she was pretty horrified (shes a chef, big on food hygiene). cooked Meat that doesnt get used isnt disgarded as it should be. instead its left to cool, then reheated.

Think about it, what shouldn't you be doing with meat? reheating it. reheating = bacteria = all sorts of problems. needless to say she rearly eats kebabs unless its from the place not far from us whcih she knows is clean. And TBH, i'm the same after hearing about that stuff.

I had a 3/4lb beef burger a little while ago which tasted pretty much like donor meat. Tasty.

When I was young - I stopped eating Donner Kebab, as me parents told me it was made out of HORSE MEAT - LOL

I was watching a program on trans fatty fat or whatever its called. It was showing what different things had, like burgers a few grams, sausages similar etc. then doner kebab was like 6.9 or something.
so doubt it is good for you.

I eat fairly healthily, but every now and then when I've had a few too many..............I get a big fat greasy kebab and stuff it down my neck.

Yummy.
