How nuts is this?

Police in the US are investigating a detective who appears to draw his gun during a mass snowball fight on the streets of Washington DC.

Video taken at the scene shows people pelting a man with snowballs after his car, a Hummer, gets stuck in the snow.

The man - not in uniform at the time - then appears to pull out a gun while an angry crowd gathers and chants: "Don't bring a gun to a snowball fight."

I thought it was general practice for US police to draw their gun upon seeing anything even slightly suspicious?

To be fair, I would've drawn my gun. But I am devoid of Christmas cheer. The last person that intentional snowballed me got tackled and forced to eat snow. Fortunately it was my priest so it's all cool.

The funniest thing is the guy reminds me of Shaft!
He even says things like Shaft "GO ON....THROW ANOTHER SNOWBALL!!"

lol, brilliant.

To be honest, he probably got out to have a word after the snownballs were thrown, then saw the crowd, and **** himself. You can see he drew his gun in defence. I don't think he ever pointed it at anyone, and spends the whole time on his radio calling for backup.

In all seriousness, I would've drawn (but not used) my gun. I loved how the guys went all "give me your badge number so I can report your ****". Yet they assaulted him??? Odd.

My father in law was always getting into trouble for drawing his gun on people while off duty. While i was there last xmas, he was almost out the house with his glock after the plough guy repeatly blocked our cars in the drive with snow.
