Don't ever buy Canton

Hey all just after some advice on a matter i had with the Canton DM55 i owned. I currently took my Canton DM55 back to richer sounds after only owning the Soundbase for only 5 months. The system would not work properly i have seen few people saying about the firmware issue it had with going through a cycle where it would turn itself on and off. Mine did not do this but it was simlar the sound would cut off then on again. But the base would still be on after changing the optical which was the only thing that could be changed aswell as the fuse for the plug the base would still do it. Now after ringing richer sounds up today. To see what was Happening they said they was waiting for a replacement to be sent into the shop. I asked what the issue was with it and they wouldn't say all they said was Canton's policy was to send a new one out. So this turned into a heated conversation. Am i in my rights to ask what the issue was with it in the first place if it was a firmware issue i do not want another. So in the end the gent on the phone said he would have a word with his Manager and came back to me saying i could put the money to something else. Im sorry for the rant i don't like arguing with people. But i had to stand my ground i have just got off the phone with Richer sounds
 
i understand that Lude but don't people have a right to know what the issue was? If it was a firmware issue then its a matter of time how long it lasts and paying £330 its not something that should have a fault after 5 months
