Doom 3 was the first next-gen game for me if you know what I mean. The graphics were phenomenal when id first showed it off. Can't believe it's been eight years.

Agreed, For me Doom 3 was visually fantastic, Obviously the AI in farcry was superior as were ragdoll effects, etc. But you cant deny the fact doom 3 was a massive jump with regards to visuals.

I still thought Half-Life 2 looked better back then but that was mainly due to it's overall artstyle and textures which were much more photo realistic compared to Doom 3.

Doom 3 easily had a higher polygon count and such, but I still thought it looked really bland for me, and even the character models looked a little bit like untextured CGI models.

I remember playing this when it first came out and was massively underwhelmed. It looked great, but I couldn't shake the feeling that, aside from the visuals, I was playing a game from 5-6 years ago.

Although very different, Half Life 2 was the far superior game, in my opinion.

The co-op features are all that matter really.

No need to mess about with mods to make that possible like in the original PC version.

Shame this game didn't have some sort of invasion/survival mode in the multiplayer as it could do with one.

Never fully got into Doom 3 as my computer wasn't up to scratch. Think I'll be checking this out, the co-op sounds very interesting.

doom 3 had some proper **** your pants moments for me, and I had to end up playing it in short half hour stints as my heart just couldn't take it. maybe I was just a bit more wimpish 8 years ago though

I take it they are definitely talking about the Doom 3/Resurrection Of Evil part of the package and not Doom 1 or 2?

They should have included Final Doom but I suspect that might be so they get extra money out of us for the XBLA release.

hmm i've pre ordered this for about £16 on the PC.
do you think it will have 360 controller support?
if not i will get it on xbox360 as i'd prefer to sit back with a controller.

I thought that was the whole point. Survival shooter. Low ammo, no flashlight.

There's a part where you are in complete darkness, and you have to make a decision to either see where you are going and where the zombies are, or shoot your way blindly. Loved it!
