Fear Factory
Mastodon
Children of Bodom
Arch Enemy

So far for me the only band looking remotely intresting is rise against :/

If those 3 are the headliners i will be seriously disappointed but it is looking like they will be.

Lets hope they can make it up with some decent bands. Ill nino, inflames, 36crazyfists, skindred, serj (possibly?) would make me happy.

I seriously think Rage are going to be at Reading this year though!

So those three are headlining. I can't believe it. I don't want to. This was going to be my first Download but jesus christ the line up is ****. Offspring just make it. But Lostprohets and KISS. Seriously? Did they even ask other bands?

The lineup really needs to become so much better if I am to go.

i'm confused by the headliners that had been announced, completely different from what i'd had word of from good sources.
my wish list would be the same line up as rock-am-ring, but i might as well just go there instead, works out about the same price and for a better organised festival

IF the the 3 rumoured bands are indeed headlining, it will be the worst Download EVER as I can't see Offspring and Lost Prophets pulling in more than 10000 each,

They've done their maths on the Lostprophets, they were playing big sheds on their last tour (same size sheds GNR and Maiden played on the last UK tour) and they pulled a bigger crowd at Reading last year than some headliners manage- not to mention being completely at home in front of the huge crowds. OK, they're no Metallica, GNR or Maiden in terms of pulling power but... Well, it's either that or you get the same 3 or 4 bands headlining each year, there's just not many heavy bands with that sort of draw. They've had Tool, Feeder, Audioslave, all worse choices IMO.

At the end of the day, they struggle to fill 3 days with diverse, crowdpulling heavy bands, never mind find 3 huge headliners.

I wouldn't really ever go to Download, but Lostprophets at Leeds last year were fantastic, the way they got the crowd going was incredible and it really made it special, everyone was enjoying themselves.

Lost Prophets might be able to pull in 10k of their own fans and sell out small arenas but they won't be able to able to draw others in simply because they have a weak back catalogue (IMO) and stage show. Don't get me wrong, I actually quite like them but not enough to want to see them as a headline act at a 'metal' festival. Same goes with Offspring and bands of that ilk. As said before, Kiss could headline and be successful (even though I don't like them) because of their stage show and history. Priest would also be a good headliner. Could bands like Offspring and Lost Prophets Sell out Wemley or Twickenham??? No I seriously doubt it and when bands like GNR, Metallica, Maiden and Muse can then I can't see LP and Offspring pulling in big crowds @ Download.

RIP Download.

Man, what a dissapointing lineup :(

I went two years ago for the whole week, was awesome.

Indeed Download 2006 was awesome Headlining was T00L, Metallica & (Not really) Guns 'n' Roses ( Who caused several riots due to the fact they were so **** with just axel and a session band). Other Acts for that year were Prodigy, In Flames, SL@YER and many many more awsome bands

He's not that much of a fan boy.

I don't know why everyone associates him as such.

Im going to take a stab at this but it might be due to its in his siggy or at least was for a long time. You would think he liked them somewhat to make a siggy that was under 20kb.

Wasnt the download 2 years ago with Tool, Metallica and GnR Headlining? I wanted to go then but couldnt find anyone to go with
