The Guardian on Saturday offered Syriana (15) for free download and on Sunday, the Observer offered Best in show (12).

These are only available until midnight on Tuesday- so if you are interested, act fast!

For Syriana, go to www.guardian.co.uk/syriana
For Best in show, go to www.observer.co.uk/bestinshow

You will have to enter some identity and email details (not checked) and you will be given a URL, a "Voucher code" and some very brief instructions.

The URLs will probably be www.blinkbox.co.uk/syriana & www.blinkbox.co.uk/bestinshow. The voucher codes will probably be SYRIANA & BESTINSHOW respectively.

You will have to register for BlinkBox using an email address which probably has to be valid but from which you do NOT have to send a validating reply.

You do NOT have to enter any credit card details - just the "Voucher code".

I downloaded and installed the BlinkBox downloader but you probably don't have to do so.

You will end up with one .WMV file for each film (Syriana - 1.2GB & Best in show is 1GB)

Go for it - FAST! :)

... as much as I appreciate the free films I don't fancy signing up either. ...
In general terms, I would agree about the signing up aspect. However it really isn't that much work and as I have indicated, you can safely use a throw-away email address and you don't actually have to provide any significant data.

Having said that, Syriana and Best in show may not be your cup of tea - in which case, "Jog on" :p

Incidentally, to whoever moved this from General Discussion to here, whilst I am sure that it was a most thoughtful gesture, I did post it where in General Discussion in order that it should gain as much casual exposure as possible - a reasonable choice I would venture to suggest in light of the comparitive "Viewing numbers" (7:1)

It was moved to Music, Box Office, TV & Books because it's about films - I can appreciate that it might get more views in General Discussion* but it's not the appropriate forum for the subject.

*nb - when it was moved a link was left with the redirect automatically so people in GD can still click it to get to here.
