Dragon's Dogma Up for Pre-Order on Steam

Is this game region locked at all? Currently £10.60 on Nuuvem but it was saying not available in your country without using Hola.

Edit: Doesn't work anyway, tried using Paypal and it seemed to know from that my actual location.

Completed BBI last night, level 59 I think? There were a couple of very hard encounters I had to retry a couple of times (necromancer + dragon combo and end boss). I also managed to exploit my Assasins bow range on a couple of fights to damage things from safety I shouldn't be able to! ;)

Sods law I've only had 2 useful items to my class/pawns class from all the BBI cursed items I've purified, everything else has been for other classes and useless to me :(

I downloaded the 'demo' last night to make sure that after years of waiting (never had a PS3 for more than a week, always wanted to play this title) it's still going to be for me.

Oh boy it is! I'm loving it. Buying it tonight when I get home along with DLC.

Well, got to the final battle at around level 50 and just can't be bothered to do it. It takes so long as a melee character it just isn't fun. It's so random too making it almost impossible to avoid just getting smashed to pieces.

Managed to get it down to around 20% health and it knocked me down and then one hit me with a fireball. Retry and you have to do the whole thing again? Nahhh.

Uh oh, melee under powered late game? I'm going for a rogue/poison build, I assume it simply won't be viable then?

If so, mage it is.

Not sure about Rogue, I think the stamina and movement abilities they get will probably help. I am sword and shield and boss fights are just terrible.

Yeah your right this game was designed for you to stick with the beginner professions throughout and suffer all encounters, switching professions adds nothing. Good luck with that.

Don't be a ****, it's not very welcome on this forum.

Antony101, check out some vids and find out what's best.

I'm playing Fighter because I WANT too. It isn't my fault the boss fights are all so biast toward ranged characters.
Seems like the role of a fighter is more of a team player sort of thing when it comes to bosses. You draw the aggro of the enemy and occasionally climb on the mofo's and try and inflict damage to critical areas.

I haven't tried it myself, though. Just what I notice with my pawns and everything. I've found having at least one in my party is invaluable, though. Especially for normal mobs, which can kill you quickly as an archer or spellcaster if they start to gang up on you.

Fighter is great in a big brawl with multiple mobs, but fighting a massive dragon, who's attacks you cannot block is terrible. The fight goes on forever too because the pawns don't do anything as they don't have beastiary knowledge.

For reference, I've beat Grigori with Fighter, Warrior, Stryder and Assassin. It's perfectly doable, though I must say Assassin was easier. I wouldn't recommend the magic-hybrid classes unless you want to make the game stupidly easy, though if you are struggling as a fighter then maybe change it up? You can do it as a fighter, but if it's not for you then it's not for you ^_^

is Dragon's Dogma similer to Dark Souls?

Hey all,

Question is above really, Is it made by the same studio?? I like the look of it but I hated Dark Souls so if it's more of the same I think I'll miss it.

While it has realtime combat, it's more towards a traditional RPG. I'm not a fan of the Dark Souls games either, but I love Dragons Dogma. You can pick it up for under £13 as well (Instant Gaming), which is an utter bargain.
