Dragon's Dogma Up for Pre-Order on Steam

I've pre-ordered via GMG, with their code you can get it at £18.48.

Loved this game on the 360, proper hyped to be able to play it again.

Really? I'd never heard this complaint when it was released on PS3. There was a big ps3 thread on it. Rather bizarre.... most folk had no problems with it or if there was low fps at times it certainly didnt impact the game enough to make it unplayable....

In comparison i remember some areas of dark souls being an utter mare to play on the ps3 because of seriously low fps but never enough that people quit the game

Good game on ps3 but looking at that video i'm not impressed at all with the graphics to be honest. Graphics for ps3 version were great just expect a bit more for PC version. Struggling to see real improvements tbh
What now?

Dude, the game often ran *consistently* in the low 20's on PS3. How on earth would nobody have a problem with that? And it's an action-heavy combat system, which compounds it.

It was totally unplayable for me. Some people obviously just had very low standards. I used to, but not anymore. Not after getting used to playing most games at 60fps. Even 30fps feels disappointing to me. A shaky low 20fps framerate is just abysmal. And I'm pretty sure if any game released in that state today it would be panned universally.

The only seriously problematic area with Dark Souls was Blighttown. The rest of the game ran at a mostly accepable 30fps with dips.

Dragon's Dogma was also never a looker. It was adequate, but far from being one of the more impressive games of its day. There are numerous improvements shown if you watch the video. Textures, draw distances and even some shaders for things like the water are improved. It's not a complete overhaul, but combined with higher resolutions and 60fps+ framerates, it's a HUGE difference. Still not a graphical showcase, but a big improvement over consoles and far more playable.

I remember it looking really blurry and the fps was certainly sub 30. But if the game itself gets better after the first hour or so that i played then the pc version should be cool!

Looking forward to this, its a great game and very underrated.

Cant wait to fire this off again :D

always wanted to like this on ps3 but it was so muddy and poorly performing that i just cant play like that!

People are reporting that it is a really good port to the PC.

60 fps, can run at 4k and has great mouse and keyboard support.

Anyone know how the Pawn system will work on this? On console it used your friend list, and then you could use random people's pawns too.. Does it integrate using the Steam Friend list or are we just stuck on random?

Not sure actually! But glad you can turn off the crapy pawn chatter
