I downloaded the DRAM calculator but noticed it has not been updated for Zen 3:
https://www.techpowerup.com/download/ryzen-dram-calculator/

Is Zen 2 a good starting point, or are there any alternatives?

I'm running XMP profile (stable), so will spending the time manually tuning the memory return significant speed benefits beyond what XMP has given?

Kit is Corsair CMK32GX4M2Z3600C18:
Micron E-die, 2 ranks
XMP Certified: 1799 MHz / 18-22-22-42-64 / 1.35 V

CPU: 5600X
MB: Gigabyte B550M Pro

That's the memory I'm running.

I had zero luck trying the settings suggested by DRAM Calculator (X570 Elite, 3900X) and didn't care enough to persevere.

It has run perfectly with XMP enabled from day one.

I ran mine using the import full HTML report from Thaiphoon Burner and chose Zen 2 and it worked perfectly on my 5800X and X570 motherboard. I also used the settings and voltage from the advanced tab of the DRAM calculator. Apparently the memory controller is very similar from Zen 2 to Zen 3

Memory controller is identical in zen2 and zen3. So whatever dram calc setting gives out should be the same for zen2 and zen3.
