Hi All,

We are currently replacing one of our branch office ADSL routers, any thoughts on Draytek?

Specifically the 2830 or 2850.

Will be used for VPN tunnel to Watchguard 510 also.

Cheers,

Ash

Hi Ash,

I'll start the ball rolling - I really rate them. I've been using them for years in various different guises (starting with the old 2600 series)

I used them to create endpoint VPN-to-VPN IPSec tunnels to a head office and they were really solid and relabile for the money.

I used a 2820 for a few years and now have a 2830n which is perfect for my needs.

if you can -try and register your company as a reseller with SEG - their uk partner. if you can their support dept will spend a lot of time with you answering support questions and log in if required.

Hi I use the 2820Vn it works really well and has the added benefit of standby 3G when you plug a USB dongle into it!

failover works flawlessly, albeit a little slow compared to ADSL+ but if you have a decent 3G area then it could actually be faster on the 3G!

both will route the VPN tunnel as long as your service provider on the 3G dongle supports it.

good router but I still recommend cisco products over draytek fisher price reputation but if cost is an issue, draytek it is.
