I long for the day when someone picks a classic J Dredd story, give us Block Mania with Orlok! The Dark Judges !! The Cursed Earth !!! Judge Death or Judge Child even Uncle Ump's Umpty Candy would probably be more interesting!.

Urban is a decent bloke and actor so I'm happy he's the main man, but the story looks so generic

Will need to see it on the screen.

Keith Urban is a refreshing change. Stallone just didn't have the imposing physical presence required for Dredd.

Keith Urban? The Kiwi country music star? Personally, I like Karl Urban and he carries off action roles well so I'm not writing this film off just yet.

Sounds nothing like stallone, if anything he sounds like Clint Eastwood which was always how Dredd was supposed to sound like.

I wont write it off yet but it's got a hell of a job to convince people it will be good and make some money.

Agreed. The other good thing about it is that he is a huge 2000AD fan and stated that the only way he would do it was if they kept true to Dredd and he never takes his helmet off.

As stated before the script was in place before the Raid. Not too fond of the uniform though but anything is going to be better than Slys attempt. I still have nightmares when he says "I am the Sssslaw" :rolleyes

It looks visually good, guessing a big budget for this. It will be worth a watch at least. People shouldnt judge a film before its even released! Give it a chance
