Was just chatting with my friends and we all decided to try various unusual\cool spirit mixes when we next go out (to a swanky bar obviously), but were wondering what we could ask for and what's nice. You know, like two measures of whatever, with a single of something else and a splash of lime on the rocks (or something even more complicated\specific). So what do you drink if you're going for a spirit, and what's cool to ask for!? :p

Double Tia Maria

Then make it up to a pint with equal volumes of larger and cider.

Sounds nasty but looks and tastes fantastic.

Or simple but very nice.

Just try a few drinks and see if you like them, many bars have a cocktail menu so pick ones with ingredients you like or ask the barstaff to surprise you. It isn't like we know your tastes to properly advise. However as a random mix that my local came up with this was fairly decent - shot of green chartreuse, tonic water and cranberry juice all in a small whisky-sized glass.

Havana 7 year is good too.

Cocktails wise...I'm a big fan of Honeyberry Sours but they are pretty sweet. Caipirinhas are nice too, and raspberry daiquiris.
 
Large Crème de menthe over crushed ice... you'll only really get a decent bar serving it because it's a pain in the ass crushing the ice.

Murry mint is nice too.... just like the sweet! Crème de menthe & Baileys with ice :)

Really nice drink though, used to be popular where I used to work.
 
3 quarters pint of carling topped up with coke and a shot of disarono dropped in tastes lovely
 
Get some shooters. I normally buy two for £4. The ones I buy are called Jokers.

Its 2 shots with Blue Aftershock, Red Aftershock and some sort of Absinthe.

Looks great, the colours dont mix if done right, and it blows your head off after about 10 or so.
 
go into any fancy bar(i used to work at the living room) tell them your favourite spirits and what kind of mixer you kind of like and they'll cook you up something very nice, they should have had good enough training and taste to make you something nice.
If u hate it, tell them* and get them to make you something else. Stops us barmen getting bored behind the bar and lets us over pour so we can have a glass as well.

* only do this when the bar is not rammed.
 
1 1/2 shots triple Sec
1 shot Bombay Sapphire Gin
1 shot Absolut Vodka
1 shot White Rum

Pour over ice into a shaker, add cranberry juice, give a quick shake, into a tall glass with ice then top up with schweps lemonade or 7-up.

Lovely drink :)

(+/- bacardi 151, galliano - dependent on where you drink)|

complicated to set up (i'm sure you'll be able to find out somewhere on the net if you wanted to diy) but looks awesome, set alight and drunk through a straw

i've never tried one and as such can't vouch for the taste, but everytime someone orders one, i'm always impressed by the way it looks!

on broad street they're about £12 iirc
