Taking it on friday 31st. Before the higher scores come into play, any advice? I need to pass it first time, shouldnt be a big problem because im not stupid, but still a bit of advice won't go a miss :p

p.s. The test is going from 35 to 60 marks i think, although don't want a thread discussing this please :) i need to pass on Friday!!!

I took the test when it first came out and got full marks :D I finished in about 10 mins as I just learnt all the questions and answers in the book the day before. Wasn't hard imo.

Just do all the practice exams you can, until you pass them every single time, no faultering.

P.S. should be in the motors forum.

My instructor gave my a copy of the interactive theory test on a CD, the little warez monkey.

yea passing hazard perception easy enough, and passing the theory with the odd 29/35 when i get unlucky ;).

i didnt see the motoring section, but i think its more general discussion anyway.

Just do loads of practice tests and if you fail, punish yourself with doing more!

I'm unlucky in that I have to do the new test with 50 questions. It's not that much harder and you get nearly an hour to do it - more than enough time.

Most of the questions are just common sense. Just make sure you know stuff like stopping distances and what some of the weirder road signs mean.

I passed my car driving test years before they introduced the theory part however i sat my motorbike test only a few years ago and had to complete the theory for that.

The thing i found that helped me the most was the interactive CD with the mock tests on it - I studied that for three weeks or so solid before my test and passed that as well.

I found it to be extremely beneficial and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone

I agree with the other guys here. Don't worry about it too much. Use the mock theory test CD's, they really do help. Once you've practiced on the CD enough you will know the format and layout of the vast majority of questions.

Good luck on Friday!

Meant to add in my previous post (as AgentOrange) says - Good luck bud

let us know how you get on

Just go over your answers as much as possible and correct any mistakes. I passed first time (much to the disappointment of the staff there it seemed), even though I nearly screwed up on the video part because I didn't know what to do.

Oh yeah and get a CD as others had said. Can't remember the one I had but almost all the questions on it were the ones I had on the test.

My theory test consisted of -

A -
Whats the number on that lorry?
JEH 225B
You're way off, it starts with a T
Oh, I'm looking at the lorry about 100 yards up the road

B -
What do you look out for on country roads?
Cows
No
Sheep
No
Goats
No.........what do farmers drive?
landrovers
No .......... what else do they drive?
Combine Harvesters
Nooooooooo..................the answer is bloody tractors.

Can't believe I passed.

My daughter spent two evenings with a theory test cd last week and passed her theory on friday.

ty 4 good lucks and lol dmpoole

ill let you know how i get on i think it should be easy enough :) i should have more time to revise for it but ive gone and got myself full time work over the summer, in between as - a levels, 40 hours a week! college will be a relief when i go back :p didnt think id be saying that any time soon.

only thing you need to know are braking distances, know that its double for rain and ten fold for ice, and the national speed limits (also for towing vehicles). The rest is common sense, if you have not picked it up through sitting passenger for 17 years than it would be incredible.

I've been driving for 32 years and I'm quite confident I would fail without cribbing first.
I remember when these tests first came out.
For a laugh our boss gave us one each and the most anybody got was 6 out of 31.
I got 5.

when i did the test my first test i failed by 1 point! i was gutted!

but i creamed it the second time and now i deliver parcels in a big white van for a living!

you will be fine mate post your score when u have dont it mate

i didnt realise the number of questions went up! doing mine on the 11th. now im panicking coz ive been doing the ones with 35 questions in and i know how im doing with that (passing most)

just booked my theory test the day before i go back to uni. gutted i missed the deadline for less questions and £7 cheaper too. ah well. just as long as i pass i'll be happy. Hopefully will find an instructor at uni to set meself up for practical.
