Hi all
I was using the onboard sound to power my speakers and a usb headset for gaming which was fine, but my headset was damaged so i bought a set of normal (jackplug) headphones and now the volume is really quiet and very scratchy when turned up. I have checked both the windows and realtek settings and all are on full and downloaded latest drivers from gigabyte.
Is this normal and i just go used to the clarity of usb headset?
Apart from being quiet and not very good sound i find teamspeak voices are now really loud so i need to drop the windows volume, but then my games are really quiet
I have an old SB card to put in if needed or can go and get another set of usb headphones but its annoying me and i would rather try to solve it.
Thanks for any replies.

Go to settings > control panel > sounds and audio devices > audio tab > Sound playback > volume and see if anything helps here.

Ive got speakers connected via the analogue audio jacks from onboard sound, got a set of powered headphones also. The headphones are 5.1 sound (the only way to go for online games), and have a switch to send output to speakers when Im not wearing the headphones.

Thanks for the replys
Ill go get myself a new set of headphones then, its just strange that i used to use realtek 97' onboard sound on my last system (asus k8v se delux) and it was fine with normal headphones.
Cheers for the help :)
