Dual 7800GTX SLI or wait till G80/R600 ?

Hey chaps...

I have a 7800gtx and have done for some time... I quite fancy having a play with SLI and therefore getting another card... but, I'm not sure if I will be wasting my money.

If I can get another 7800GTX for £160 should I do it or should I just wait for the next gen of cards?

What would you lot do?

Id sell the card you have and put the rest to it to get a 7900GTX, ive senn them on ocuk for £350

7800GTX SLI is faster than a single 7900GTX, I sold my 7800's to get a 7900GTX because I'd gone with a "Lower res than my CRT" LCD and needed to free up the cash for it, I can tell the difference now, not so much in Q4 multi but in single player with everything maxed out several of the games I play struggle at 1680x1050 (Oblivion, Tomb Raider, Quake 4) if you can get one for £160 then i'd say go for it, it'll give you a nice speed boast and see you through until G80.

As an alternative you could sell on the card and get a couple of 7900gt's, it'll set you back £400 but you could off set the money you get for the 7800 against them, so for £240 you could end up with 7900GT SLI which will be very nice and OC better than 7800GTX SLI and also consume less power.

Only problem with SLI ( well for me anyway ) was the heat. No denying that the 2 7800GTs i used to have were quicker than the 7900GT i now have
