Display 1 - 17"" 1280 x 1024 LG LCD
Display 2 - 36"" 1360 x 768 Samsung HDTV

I'm having problems usefully utilizing both displays. ATI's extended desktop isn't really that helpful. Is there anyway you can have two desktops, one on each display, and be able to switch between them?

At the moment, if I want to play a game using the HDTV I have to switch it to the primary display and then play the game, which is annoying. Also, when the TV is off various windows always go onto the screen that the TV usually displays, so I have to turn it on just to drag the window back into the LCD's desktop space.

I'm just wondering what people with the same setup have done?

Well if you use ultramon you can set up a bind for "move window to next monitor", so when your app doesn't load on the correct screen you just press your bind and it moves to the other one :)

No idea about the switching primary display bit, I just have 2 monitors which are the same and have one set to primary all the time. Ultramon does have a quick shortcut to setting the primary display, and also allows you to "disable secondary" which should actually stop windows loading on that!

If my LG monitor did 1360x720 then I could do clone-mode which would be ideal.

I'll check out that programme though.

Thanks
