Dual mass flywheel issue

Long time no post. Hoping to get some opinions from some mechanic minded people.


I had to replace a crank seal on my daily. Car went in the workshop fine and the seal was replaced. The mechanic built it back up and tested it and now there is a rattle which he thinks is the flywheel.
I know these give up and have problems but is it likely to fail because it was removed and refitted ?
there was no clutch or flywheel issues at the start, just the oil leak. A mate who is a mechanic thinks it’s unlikely and could be the release bearing not seated properly.
any thoughts? It’s a 1.7 cdti Astra
 
Sounds like our Zafira, replaced the clutch, two days later flywheel rattling, had to then buy another clutch as is had self adjusted and the tool to reset was more than another.

Massive waste of money not changing at the time...
 
Ye if it needed it before it would have got it. Just curious Is removal and refit of what was good items likely to cause them to play up? Was zero issues bar the oil leak when it went in
I’m not trying to blame the garage either, just trying to understand if what happened sounds normal.
