Dual Shock 3 ?

Nokkon, why do you keep entering PS3 threads to try and start arguments?

I don't 'try to start them', I merely point out shortcomings that are already there. I do the same thing against the Xbox360 and Wii too where I see problems.
People need to get off their high-horses and stop coming up with conspiracy theories. I'm honest, nothing else.

I always thought that the "deadzone" on the analogue pads was partially down to the fact that both the sticks are push buttons, i thought it was designed so that if you pressed the buttons down at a slight angle then you wouldnt move.

That's a good point actually. I'm always inadvertently pushing down on the 360 sticks and moving left/right when I didn't mean to.

Have you lot been hit by customs charges for the imported Dual Shocks?

Where from? Are we allowed to say on here? I'd really love one as I'm using my PS3 more and more now. The 360 hasn't seen any action for ages.

Shipped on the 20th hong kong time (8 hrs in front) arrived heathrow this morning, deliverd 13:30 today yay!

Nice one on getting it so quickly m8, must let us know what it's like :)
Mine was posted on Monday, but still not here yet, I don't hold out much hope of getting it before the weekend either
I am still waiting for Eye of Judgement and Drakes to arrive they were both shipped 10 days ago

Will pick myself one up when i go back to Hong Kong at christmas. Im a little bit peeved that the controllers havent been rumble ready from the start. However the biggest issue i still have with the the controller is the triggers are absolutely naff for precision, and this really comes through when playing the GT5 demo, it's pretty much on or off!

Xbox pad for the win! (go on, bring on the flames :p)

Also on a side-note, is it just me or is there hardly any manufacturers doing third party controllers anymore? I remember the last generation of consoles had them by truck loads!

From what I undertsand Microsoft charge a silly amount to license their propriety wifi technology so it is not worth it for most controller manufacturers.

On a similar note I don't even know if Sony let 3rd parties have their sixaxis (at any cost!).

You can get wired 3rd party stuff for both, but this gen no-one wants wired controllers!

Edit: get me a spare one from Hong Kong, seriously.

Found that on PS3fanboy.com. They made a point that is looked similiar to the boomerang style concept controller. Custom button layouts will be alright but it's nice to see they have made the rear truggers convexed now. However the bloody sticks should be aswel!

Triggers on the PS3 are already Convex. Those are Concave.
Either way, why can't 3rd party manufacturers make decent looking controllers.

Ok now home and the DS3 is on charge, first impressions is that its about the same weight as the DS2 maybe slightly lighter. The D-pad seems lightly stiffer as do the sticks in comparison with the Sixaxis although this might be just that its not worn in yet. Just tried it with the Uncharted demo (vibrate is enabled in this) when you shoot there is a small amount of vibrate going on also when you jump down or fall off things, seems the vibrate differs depending on how high you fall. When you get shot theres quite a jolt from the controller possibly slightly more than i remember from the DS2, when go to co cover the pad gently vibrates depending on which side you stand. Anyway back we go for another play lol.

If you want to know what it's like with the full game you can post me your pad and I'll report back! :D
