Hi All,

I know there are a few bikers on here:)

I have a few bikes, but I'm planning to get a Duke 916 Biposto.

The bike looks great, but I was contemplating whether or not to change the wheels. I really like the Marchesini wheels off a 996 (Gloss Black or Grey 5 spoke)

Will the 996 wheels simply interchange without any adjustment to things like the front discs (or anything for that matter)

Thanks..

Hi,

I've found a ducati owners forum, so I'll give it a try :)

Still if you have any info.... :)

I'm 99.9% sure that the later Marchesini wheels are a straight swap over to replace the original 3 spokes on a 916.

I'll check with a few folks in the "know" and see if I can dig up any "concrete" info regarding this for ya.

KK....got this back from a guy who knows his Duke stuff:-

Straight swap. The pin pattern in the wheel should be the same...be careful when fitting any 916 rear wheel, they can go on in two positions ond only one is with the drive pins seated in the correct size holes.

Hope that helps somewhat.

Could you do me a favour? And measure the hub width (ie, from disc to disc) on your front wheel if you get a minute? Doesn't need to be too precise, I'm just trying to work out the options for a wheel swap into a GSXR-fronted SV650. Because it doesn't have quite enough random parts from different bikes in it yet :) The 5-spoke out of an ST4 fits in the back but fronts are pricier so I don't fancy gambling on it...

Any help, much appreciated :)

Hey thanks Draeger :)

I'm gonna look more into it as I really like the 5 spokes and they set the bike off real well :)

Edit: Northwind is that Q for me?. The wheels on the 916Bip are gold 3 spokes..

If yours is a straight swap then the only measurement that I can't work around- difference between the discs- should be the same. Not a problem if you can't do it, it's pure opportunism on my part :)
