i cant get hold of any goodyear eagle F1's before the nuburgring trip as they are out of stock and goodyear dont have an ETA on any more.

i have been offered these and they are a bit cheaper than the goodyears. other options are pirelli p-zero (asymmetric) or toyo t1-r.

i had the t1-s before on my 200 and i rated them as good as the eagles in the dry, but not quite as good in the wet, they also wore quicker.

links to reviews or first hand experience please! :)

Loved my SP9000's in the dry on my VTR, however in the wet they were shocking.

Haha, madness just driving around yesterday talking to this very man about SP9000's, got the same review, great in the dry they used to grip and grip but shocking in the wet.

yup go for the T1-Rs !! much harder wearing than the T1-S tyres, better grip, harder side wall too. I've not seen anything bad written about them! :)

Had SP Sport 9000 on the Mondeo. Good, but not Eagle F1 Good.

They've been replaced by Sport MAXX which still isn't as good as the F1's.

I wouldn't have thought Proxes are a good choice for something like an M5, they are bit more budget-performance for smaller stuff.

Can you not get hold of Bridestone Potenza RE050A or S-03's? The S03's are pretty much on-par with the Eagle F1's.

o.k. had to make a quick decision and ended up with the dunlops. good news is they were £70 cheaper for the pair.

sounds like they should be similar in the dry but noticeably worse in the wet. guess i will have to wear them out extra quick before autumn comes around :)

We can only hope for a rain free europe / dry ring and lots of laps to get them to the wear markers ;)

i am counting on no rain for the trip!

i was actually suprised last time how well the fronts stood up to many ring laps, and how well they have lasted since. they have been on the car for 11k miles since i got it and about 2-3 more before that. they probably had another 1k left in them. but didnt want to try that on a ring trip, bearing in mind its about 800 miles there and back, as well as accelerated tyre wear whilst going around.

Thats really good going, hope my f1's wear the same!

i think its how the car is setup. they used to last less on the 200 as the shoulders would wear down much faster.

rears only last about 8000 - i have no idea why ;)
