DVD cannot read DVD's in Win7. HELPZ

I have an Optiarc DVD RW AD-7241S, it crashes explorer when trying to access a DVD in Win7, I could install Win 7 with the drive so it does work.

Anyone got a solution? ATM I have plugged my Xbox 360 HD-DVD Rom in to install some games.

Does it read CDs? And what is making it crash, the internet or external drive?

sounds like the bios is set wrong, ahci mode???? is the dvd drive ide or sata?

i had the same issue, changed it to install win7 and then after install my dvd drive would not work and hung the pc
