Thanks - you may have answered in 5 seconds what the DVLA couldn't over 2 whole days!

Had you gone through the automated system to an advisor they could have told you that on the phone in 10 minutes. Sounds like you heard a message you didn't quite understand and hung up.

All the forms the DVLA send out are reminders, sent as a courtesy, we shouldn't rely on them alone - after all things do go missing in the post (in some areas more reguarly than others).

also for future reference, usually if you just mash random buttons or the # or * button a few times on these automated phone systems it will get confused and just put you through to a real person anyway
