If a clutch was on its way out would it cause the car to stutter when you accelerate?

Its a Volvo V70 2.5, and yes I know there is a good Volvo forum but its not been reopened yet

I wouldn't have thought so. A worn clutch is more likely to manifest itself as loads of revs, no power to the wheels.

Juddering, could be related to fueling, air or something like that.

Had a look in my haynes manual for my fiesta and apparently hesitation on acceleration can be down to carb problems(not for you), incorrectly gapped sparkplugs or fuel system problems(including blocked injectors).

Not sure if this is any help?

Stutter or Judder when pulling away ?

Worn Clutch Can cause juddering or it can slip. What is this stuttering of which you speak  + :p
