Monitor is a Hanns-G, HH 251 D, must be getting close to 5 years old. Recently I've noticed it appears to have developed a flickering in what I assume is the backlight after it's been on for 15-20 mins. Is it a symptom of impending doom? LOL. I'm guessing the backlight or power supply is getting ready to fail.

So should it fail or I just get hacked off with the flickering what's good for around the £150 mark (bigger the better)

i would say if it is the backlight it's not really worth repairing. Quite often you can pick up a monitor for the same price if not cheaper than having it repaired.

Yeah, those were my thoughts. It's not worth looking at repairing it, it was only cheap anyway. Plus times move on and I'd probably be able to buy better for the same money (give or take) than the old one.

Indeed, the price of higher spec monitors now has reduced so much. If you were to go like for like you would probably be looking lower than £50 whereas what you could get now for what you paid for it is likely to be a big difference :)

I'm not a monitor feind for gaming monitors as i really only do photo work but i'm sure someone on here can help you find one. :) Failing that the OC chat on the sales page are awesome help!
