Ive been looking at these to add to my civic vti with the PC support tool for mapping myself (when i know how to)

Anyone got any info on these? i know about Uberdata and Hondata but they need be be soldered into the main ECU witch im not a fan of...

Any info or experiance would be great... Cheers :)

I've done a little research pn as I'm getting an e-manage blue for the trubo conversion of the mx5. It won't be able to cater for bigger injectors all it does is alters injection duty cycles, tweak/tune fuelling etc... YUou can use them to shift VTEC points I believe. It's just a piggy back ecu, it doesn't replace your ecu - it basically just taps straight into your ecu from what I understand.

it doesnt tap into your ecu so much as just alters the sensor inputs that it recieves, altering its behaviour. Ultimately you will be limited by the actual ecu map. IMO the only decent routes are to either have your ecu mapped properly, or go for a standalone management system.

I agree - but some ECUs cause more problem to "tweak" so going back to the "default" setting is easier isn't it? Problem is some full blown replacement fully customiseable ECUs can cost 4 figure sums or a lot of money eitherway from what I've found.

I thought Uberdata was just re-flashing of the BIOS, no soldering needed?

your right in a way... uberdata requires you to install a new flashable EPROM...

Then you need to software and a flasher (not sure what its called) to put the program on the chip... but this way you dont get real time tuning becuase you have to remove the chip when you want to make a change..

EDIT: here are some of the things the e-manage basic can do HERE
