So, here's the story. Iv just got a E2140 system coming my way.

My older brother has a X2 3800 and my younger brother doesnt have a PC. Now, my older brother needs the 'better PC' for music; so, I can either give him the E2140 system and ask him to give my younger brother the X2 3800 system, or the other way around but, I dont know which is quicker.

The E2140 is running at stock (1.6ghz) and the X2 3800 is running at 2.65ghz (clocked up from 2ghz).

Which would you say would be the 'faster' for mass music work ? The X2 3800 or the E2140?

If overclocking was out of the equation then it'll be the X2 3800. Once overclocked though the E2140 will be better even if just overclocked to 2.65Ghz the Intel CPU's do work work per cycle. That E2140 should be able to do 3.2Ghz no problem.

I've just moved from a 2.8Ghz X2 3800 to this system and this is far better than my old system.

Edit: Oops, had the page open and not updated so missed the replies.
