E6700 temps seem a little high....

I've got a E6700 running at stock on an Abit IP-35 PRO in an Eclipse 62 (Drive bays removed and cables tidied for best airflow). Heatsink is a Noctua U12F with 2 noctua fans strapped to it in push/pull config.

Heatsink has been mounted (correctly!) with the correct amount of AS5 (I've remounted it a number of times).

Neither Heatsink or CPU appear to be convex/concave - yet temps are about 49degrees idle 60degrees load (coretemp). I'm fairly sure they shouldn't be that high, heatsink isn't hot to touch so I'm fairly clueless :(

Tempted to give in and just buy a TR 120 Ultra and a G0 Q6600 but I'd like to get to the bottom of this first :p

Any help would be appreciated! :)

Hmmmm, i'm running my 6750 @ 3.2 with 2.75 volts.......

I think 3.5 vcore is the max..... try lowering the vcore a tad....

I sit at 28C on core1 and 30C on core2 idle btw..... with my Thermalright Ultra... readings from TAT.

Can't set it any lower - using the default bios at the moment, might look at flashing a newer one

I have tried a different board too (Gigabyte P35 DS3P) - same problem 8[

Seriously, doesnt the bios allow for lower voltage?......

Now i'm glad i opted for this board over the IP35 Pro even more....

I don't believe it does, I may be having a stupid moment, but it doesn't appear to go any lower in uguru or bios :|

Just took a pic - airflow should be fine here?!
