I've tried to OC my chip in the past but haven't had much luck at all.

Any time I try to change anything the PC either doesn't boot at all and I end up resetting the CMOS or the PC will beep at me several times and reset it's own BIOS. occassionally I'll change something but see no difference (yes I've saved it!). Am i missing something? I don't want a major OC, even to 3.6GHz would be fine. it's running with an Arctic Cooling Freezer pro.
That happens sometimes as well, the CPu speed shows as 2GHz but I have any power saving functions off in the Bios as well.
