Earthquake off the coast of Japan - tsunami warning issued

According to BBC News, a magnitude 7.1 earthquake has triggered the automated tsunami warnings. I've seen a video of one of these warnings, and while purely informative, they're terrifying. (example vid here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eCgFjjDWJ3w)
