Easter break.. Four days off... Where to go?

I'd head to Rome myself. cheap ass ryan air flight from Stansted to Ciampino airport, Terravision bus from outside http://www.terravision.eu/rome_ciampino.html to termini and get a cheap room near by (it's cheaper that side away from the tourist hot spots. either walk or use the metro system and enjoy. Defo worth a look if you haven't been before.

Rome was my very first thought when I went Google "short breaks abroad" and it was one of the things that popped up on lastminute.com..

Edit* :o I've already said this.

I know :(
Was with Egyptair via BMI as well so not anything "Virgin esque" :o

I'd refuse to pay that out of principle, it's pathetic money for a flight so short. 800 quid to Egypt?!

Right now Air Newzealand will fly you to Los Angeles for HALF that!

I went Easter last year for 4 days, it's a nice amount of time to see most things you would want to see. It's great seeing the things you have only seen in a history book or a movie. Was my second time there so I just booked everything separate those buses from the airport to termini station are perfect as it takes the hassle right out of getting into the centre, Cheap as chips also. :)

I'm sure you could have got a seat on a Thomas Cook/ Thomson flight from Bristol for less than that Fuzz

flythomascook.com website is next to useless.

Mother saying she'll pay for Motorhome hire as long as I drive it.. (in other words she wants to come to Rome too.. Hmmm)
I'll have to have a think about this. :o
Bedtime for me now (cycling to work tomorrow before the good weather gives way)

Prague
Berlin
Munich
Vienna
Budapest
Bratislava
Barcelona
Milan

All great cities to spend a few days

Rome is an interesting place during some unrest, was there during G8 protests in 2001, was great fun being in a protest march down to the monument of Emmanuelle II(?) with police blocking you off on all the corners :D no trouble, but an interesting experience.

Motorhome idea is out on it's ear. Would have taken two days to drive to Rome and back and an overnight ferry each way pretty much took all of the available time left LOL.
I've got diving in mind now as I've not been for a while and need to get back in before my gills dry out completely. ;)

Back up plan...
I've had the offer of going off-roading for the weekend, probably being someones winch bitch but any mud is good mud when V8's are concerned. :D
