Easter break.. Four days off... Where to go?

Can anyone beat £363.92 (plus a load of Ryanair hidden stealth taxes making it closer to £400 in reality) for flights from UK to Lanzarote
Early as possible depart on Friday 6th
Late as possible return on Monday 9th

That price was Bristol BRS > Lanzarote ACE with Ryanair..

I've decided Berlin isn't close enough to the sea, or warm enough. :D

I wouldnt bother going if the flight was that much. It would just rage me to death paying FOUR HUNDRED POUNDS to fly Ryanair to Lanzerotte.

Just to hammer home how much of a ripoff that is, Air New Zealand are offering flights to LAX for the same sort of money (About 40 quid more) this month. Thats 6000 miles and 12 hours away.

For the same price as a Ryanair flight to Lanzagrotty.

Well I ain't spending 24 hrs in a tube in the air and effectively take two days out of a four day holiday now am I.
That price reflects the extra time I get with my feet in the sea!
and to be honest, one metal tube in the sky is as much the same as any other.
Yes on long haul flights I'd be looking for that "little bit extra" like leg room and a decent personal tv for a movie and a nice meal but lets be realistic here, this is a 4hr flight. I don't care if it's a bit cramped or I don't get served any food. just land the ****ing thing and let me get on the beach!

My point wasn't that you should go to LA instead - you dont have the time - my point was to highlight what an absolutely massive and ridiculous ripoff that fare is.

It's like paying 50 quid for a McDonalds. I think I'd rather go hungry that night than spend 50 quid on a McDonalds.

For 400 quid!?!!

If you want to go to a chav destination you're going the wrong way about it. Booking flights and hotels separately yourself is going to cost a fortune. Go into your local travel agents and you'll probably get one of those last minute deals with a charter flight and hotel for £200 or something like that.

So this is basically spec me some ideas to get away for Easter.

Ironbridge, Shropshire.

Beautiful scenery, virtually no traffic (as far as I can tell there's only 3 people in Shropshire who actually own a car, and one of them is usually off the road for repairs), dead quiet, great restaurants, and high quality B&Bs at very affordable rates.

You're crazy. If the weather is good Ironbridge will be heaving. Traffic will be a nightmare and car parks will be full up. However, for a day out it's amazing. Scenary is beautiful and as said the resaurants are brilliant (Da Vinci's for example is mind blowing). I don't think you'd want to spend an entire easter weekend there though! (I live 10 mins away - nearly bought a flat right next to it 2 years ago before I bought my house).

As it stands, there's a load of snow on the ground and it's still snowing.

Wow. I had no idea Ironbridge was so popular in autumn, of all times. It was quiet whenever we visited in October. (We always stayed at the Old Rectory Guesthouse in Broseley).

However, for a day out it's amazing.

Totally agree.

Three cheers for Da Vinci's!

Outstanding food and service. :)

Mate, I would sell my left leg to live in Ironbridge. Or someone's left leg, anyway.

It's a quirky little village:

Lille is an hour from London by train so I've no idea why you'd fly, especially as you cant fly direct and have to change in France somewhere, meaning the typical journey time is huge. It's also lol-expensive too, over £500 from my quick check :p
