eBay/Paypal help : Bought two tyres which are faulty: What to do?

Someone on another forum suggested it could even have been a bored courier depot employee or driver who had a pop at the side walls with something sharp, apparently this is more common than you would think albeit its incredulous to think someone would do such a thing. Could have been any number of ways that the damage was done either prior to dispatch or during its travels. As already said though, I'm just grateful to have been refunded in full. Credit where it is due, the seller had no hesitation in refunding me immediately upon my contacting them, very relieved I can tell you!!.

Lesson learned - check all mail order purchases with a fine tooth comb in future and don't just assume they will be perfectly ok, no matter how trusting a nature one possesses!!.
