I'm selling three items on ebay, and some guy emailed me asking if I was willing to end the auctions early if I would be willing to agree to a price for the lot of them.

Isn't this violating the terms and conditions of ebay?

Nope, you can if you wish to, but unless the price he's proposing is a good margin over the total value of all the items you may be better off letting the auction run its course.

I was offered £65 for my iPod if I ended the auction early but I stood my ground and waiting for the bidding to end. £78.

no its ok to end an auction early if your happy with the price
That's just wrong.

Yes it is against Ebays rules and regulations, if they know your doing it they will warn you a couple of times before they suspend your account, I've had two listings pulled off and been warned next time I do it I will be suspended, but it does save you the dreaded ebay final evaluation fee.

Actually if you inform potential bidders that you're reserving the right to pull the auction as it's advertised elsewhere or something, I think you can. I've seen hundreds of auctions like this with disclaimers on and it didn't look like they were ****ing off ebay.

... you wont be protected.

Yes, good point. If you cancel the auction and sell under the table eBay and PayPal won't back you up if you get caught out by a scammer or a crap buyer.
