I bought a coat off ebay for £80 a couple of weeks ago but at the time I needed to become verified to be able to send more than £75 with paypal. At first I told him it would be a few days but it turned out to be about a week.

I sent him money orders for the same amount (costing me more) like he asked in the post and put 'account payee only' over them with 2 lines however I did not send them recorded delivery.

I sent the money orders last tuesday and ive emailed him twice but have had no replies.
I know I sort of messed him around at first but I kept in contact and did send the money

what do I do now? Neither of us have left feedback for each other yet

well as you will know, there are a new type of postal order now out, so i would have thought you could have them cancelled and send them again. I know what you mean about paypal and getting verified, takes a while doesnt it.

I wouldnt get verified, with paypal. Too many scary stories about them floating around taking your money. use cheques etc.

Go to the Post office tomorrow and see if you can get them cancelled and resend.

I didnt know you could cancel them, if so how? How do they know i sent them etc

just google, paypal sucks and you will see.

As for the going to the post office, i read it as postal orders, sorry my fault, you said money orders, perhaps they are different. Maybe you cannot cancell them ? I dont know

Paypal is owned my Ebay now. There are a lot of horror stories of paypal keeping your money as when you sign up and click there agree to T&C, im sure you dont read it, no one does, but it waivs your right for a lot of things. I just transfer any money i get in paypal straight to my bank where they cannot touch it. Just in case.

i like to be safe, im sure most people wont get a problem, but I dont like taking chances

ive been useing paypal for over 12 months and ebay i got coned once for over 175 quid paypal got all my cash back very quickley though as soon as i get over 50 quid in paypal account i transfer it over to my bank account as its then free to do

i take it he has not sent you coat then email him again tomo telling him that your worried about the trasaction and would like a responce from him as soon as possible then go to the ebay safty center and report the problem to them

i've been usig paypal for years with no problems, see, if you google paypal sucks, it's only a very small minority of people that have had problems, compared to the millions of users who haven't, same with any business really, you'll hear people say 'wouldn't use so'n'so again, i had problems with them'. then they'll tell their friends etc etc, you know how it works, bad rep spreads quicker than good rep.

And i can assure you, paypal is much MUCH safer than paying by cash/cheque, you have no comeback from paying cash/cheque. If you register your paypal account with a credit card, it is the safest method of payment via Ebay.
