I bought a key from ebay for a MW3 key on the 7th for only £21 which was a worldwide key and it activated fine.

However tonight Steam have revoked the key saying:

I have asked the seller to refund my money, but im not sure where i stand?

Will Paypal be on my side,as im not sure how i can prove the key has been removed from my Steam account.

And yes,i have learnt a lesson buying keys from Ebay in future:)

Edit:

The seller has sold around 15-20 keys for the same game

So the seller bought either some dodgy keys used a card that they do not own.

Why on earth did you buy a key on ebay?

You should get your money back though.

He stole a credit card then used you to launder the money.

Will paypal refund you? Digital content can be tricky for them (they struggle with physical purchases tbh).

Looks like a good little scam but you really should have been expecting something like this in the circumstances.

I dont really care about the refund now, getting my Steam account back is more important

This is a popular scam in wow also where they use a stolen credit card to buy a load of in game pets and then try to sell them on ebay or even ingame for gold. People do actually get the code for the pet and can redeam the pet but then of course they get the payment denied message and the pet removed from the account normally a day later, seems they have moved on to steam. I would imagine then buy quite a few codes in one go and then post them on at least hope people wont realise or wont bother trying to get the 21 quid back but normally like it has been said before if a deals seems to good to be true it normally is.

I have got my Steam account restored tonight, other people on EBay who bought a MW3 key from the same seller are now leaving neg feedback, stating there Steam accounts are also suspended.

Paypal wont let me start a dispute as no returns were listed, however i have filled a compliant via Ebay and no surprise the seller hasn't responded,he has until the 25th.

Not sure if ill get my money back, but as other people are leaving negative feedback for the same product and same issues,im hopeful ill get my money back.

I wont ever be buying a key from Ebay ever again:)

Awwwww, and I sold quite a few legit keys on ebay in the past.

Why do morons like this have to ruin it for the rest of us?
