My Mum is going to be getting one of those Sony Ebook Readers for my Dad for his birthday.
Just wanting to know if anyone uses these and where the best place to get the books for it?

I know Waterstone's does them but are there any other places people use?

All the downloadable books on books.google.com are available in epub format which is supported by the Sony Readers. Also the WH Smiths online ebook store does epub ebooks. Also some publishers such as PanMacmillan sell ebooks directly from their website.

Have you checked out the DRM? Seems as restrictive or more so than music was originally. Last time I checked you could only copy the file 4 times. Not sure what happens if you ever upgraded your computer. As ebooks are often as expensive as discounted real ones I think the book industry are shooting themselves in the foot :(

Baen is great, mainly for sci-fi but cheap ($6 each or there about and bundles for $15-30), and not only do they not impose DRM on you, but provide the books in multiple formats (everything from text to lit to lrf).

Mum has just ordered the reader from the Sony Centre ready to be picked up on Thursday so I will have to have a play around then to download some books to it. Thanks for the tips! :D
