Hello

I have just got the ECS 8100VM-M5 motherboard, its running ok but have found that the LAN port intermittently fails, the tx/rx lights next to the port do not flicker. If I unplug the cable and then plugged it back in it will detect it after a few attempts. I have 2 cat 5 ports next to my router and then ran 20 mtrs of cat 5 to my pc/xbox and then installed another 2 ports at the other end, both ports work fine on my my xbox and my sons pc. I have also had the shop swap the mobo but its still the same anyone else had this problem with this board.

Thanks

I bought a replacement board and cant find drivers anywhere. It is an ECS motherboard not listed on their site but I can find others for sale. Any suggestions??? It says Goal 3 for the name of the board...

I'm using one of these as a network attached storage device. Lan port has been completely reliable for me. Drivers for it are here.

If the issue occurs with two different motherboards then I'd be looking at the router or the cable for a hardware fault, or at the operating system. I don't know what the windows support is like for it as I'm running ubuntu.

Thanks,

I'm using windows 7 which is supported by this motherboard, the Cat 5 is fine I have even retested all the ends, plus it works with the Xbox no prblem and my old pc was plugged in the the same cat5 and never had a problem, I have have updated the drivers from ecs website as the drivers that came with motherboard were for windows XP & Vista, (I also had the same problem when using XP)
