Ed Vaizey - (Communications Minister) Against net neutrality and is for ISP traffic favouring

The proposal is basically asking you to pay more for your pie, but also decide what your slice of the pie is made from. Maybe you like a big slice of Funny Cat Pictures with a sprinkling of Email.

Isn't it more like slices of pie making themselves larger pieces of the overall pie and limiting the size of the smaller slices who cannot afford to, leaving the pie-eaters with slices they might not like the taste of?

I'm surprised at the number of people that think the so called "free market" will sort this out but not as much as I am by the number of people who think this will either not affect the end user or will even be good for them!

if you are unsure of what net neutrality is or are anti net neutrality.... search for it with a search engine.

net neutrality shouldn't be brought into question for improving quality of service. Any argument using this can be answered by "improve your network not your policy".

adding some text to your contract and restricting service only lightens the load on the network, but as a result worsens the quality of service for the users of that network.

Ah, so now people's purchases have to be regulated by the all knowing state because the people are too stupid to make decisions on their own?

Still not a convincing argument...

I will also point out, back in my first post in this thread, that I was very clear that the ISP's needed to be:

so those people will have the information to make an informed choice, assuming they actually use it.

Having worked in the IT industry all of my working life, people are too stupid to make decisions on their own when it comes to computing. It's the people who understand how these things work (I.e. The minority), who stop speak out against plonkers like this mp.

Having the information laid out for all the public to see counts for bugger all when 95% of those who could read it (but never will) cannot understand it.
