As you can see, a line in each category :)

One to look out for is the R1600T Plus. Any audio enthusiast will know that M-Audio, SAMSON and other well known manufacturers make some sublime Studio Monitors. Edifier after testing are at no exception to this rule. To take bookshelf speakers and add an amp powerful enough to power them one would think would cost a fair amount of money. This is certainly reflected in the price of the other brands but the Edifier honestly perform massively beyond expectations. The lack of a subwoofer is absolutely no issue as music production is absolutely perfect bettering pretty much any other set of 2.0 speakers and 2.1 speakers at the price point in terms of build and audio quality.

Looking for warm and precise music for well below £100?? Edifier R1600T Plus is certainly the answer!

I can't agree more on these, simply blown away by the quality of quality of the music these produce. Also they are in a wooden enclosure, no cheap plastic crap.

Do any of you guys have proper Hi-Fi gear to compare them to? The R1600T Plus are the only ones of interest really. They're pretty cheap for speakers+amp.

Indeed. The power output at 2x 16W may seem very little but these are TRUE 16W per channel speakers that easily out perform most of the 200W sets on the market which just goes to show that manufacturers clearly exaggerate ! Having an amp built in certainly de-clutters the desk so thats a massive bonus too! T20s and T40s have never had such a stomping!

I have mission and Kef mixed speakers with a yamaha AMP. Obviously when your talking about £1200+ worth of kit the Edifier is bound to be out performed however these are studio monitors designed for the studio. As such sound production is exceptional and the volume for the size is mind blowing.

You cannot buy an AMP and Speakers that match these in terms of quality for less than £200 so with that in mind they are VERY impressive!

What is the bass outpu like on those monitors? Considering getting some for my work on Reason :)

EDIT: just noticed they have extra inputs, can i add my x-240 Sub to them?

Any reason why you aren't stocking the Edifier Studio R1900 TII?

This is a possibility however the range is expanding gradually to see what sells and what doesn't.

These R1600Ts are by far the best "music" speakers we stock gaming though is an unknown.

The R1900 TII looks like it could also be a good little set so I shall have a look into getting some stock in :)

I honestly could not tell you if the sub could be added to these monitors but the base is very good, probably on par with the X-240 in all honesty in terms of volume but far superior in the frequency range they cover.

damn you andrew!! ive been waiting for the corsair sp2200 to come into stock to replace my celestion F1's and scythe kama amp (amazing set up but no real volume or bass).
but now you throw the rt1600 in the mix.

hmmmm choices choices.

Given a choice Id get these even if they were twice the price :)

im tempted very tempted!
but im trying to gain space on my desk so getting rid of my F1's to replace them with these is defeating the object.

any idea when the sp2200's are in?

They should be in in a couple of weeks.. There was around a month difference on release between the SP2500 and SP2200 so that would make sense.

How do the 2.1s compare to Aego Ms?

The prisma isn't quite there but for the size and the price it is exceptional value and with that in mind is a valid alternative. The 330D is just about on par but the solid quality of the aego ms would sway me. (and did :P)

I have a set of Edifier aurora speakers, a 2.1 set designed for use with notebooks (with the right cable lengths but still mains powered). They are really excellent little speakers, solidly built from aluminium, perhaps you should stock a few of them. They come in a wide range of colours too. I went for electric blue.

Is R1600T will be a good idea for general use with my PC - gaming, some music?
Now I have old Creative t5600 - will R1600T better for my use?

Music wise the R1600T is better than anything on the site as they literally are a dedicated set of bookshelf speakers. Games are also good but a good headset as you are aware cannot be beaten.

Aah might order these as soon as my netbook is sold :) will you be getting the Arctic Cooling Accelero Extreme 6950 cooler in stock as well? If so you may be taking even more of my money lol :)
